As for builds there's a handful of options: 2pc Raging Brachy/2pc Gold Rathian - you need Goldian to not get oneshot, and Agitator 7 does wonders against Fatalis since it's a great skill, and Fatalis stays enraged for an extremely long time, giving you great mileage out of the skill. I'm also talking about spread specifically. Spread HBG deals a lot of damage and due to its ranged nature, doesn't require as precise spacing as melee & it makes it a bit safer, the damage is also very linear, idk if how it impact flinches but you'll get a lot of flinches, might just stun lock the monster, you also benefit from ammo diversity, you can litteraly decide when & where you put a monster to sleep / Para / stun, melee don't If you want to continue with spread + wyvernheart, then the safi burstcannon is the way to go. Jyura is not as flexible but definitly the stronger one. Health Boost is simply not necessary on the build due to these reasons, and due to the fact that the Safi health regen bonus actually outheals the self-damaging mechanic by a decent amount, meaning that if you play cleanly and block attacks consistently, you will almost always regain lost health through this mechanic without the need for a If you don't enjoy the spread build, you'll just go back to your lance disappointed. You also want 2 of your preferred shot type's damage skill- Forceshots for Normal, Spread shots for Spread, and piercing shots for Pierce. Optionally Jho LBG (spead 3) with a third Release rank (with eather a gem or another helmet). Fatalis' LBG has some niche usage for supporting the status effect infliction of others by means of firing its very small magazines of Sleep and Para through Wyvernblasts as wasteaway ammo, but it is not really strong enough to be a full blown status bowgun due to its high rarity and its very poor reload stats I keep looking up guides for a decent build but it’s all aquashot and endgame stuff that I don’t have, since I’ve just started guiding lands and haven’t even beat the shattered Kirin yet. That set up carried me all through IB’s main story and then I made a sticky bowgun build using the yian Garuga lbg and a mixture of the Zorah magdaros g rank set. Try using a lighter weapon like SnS, DB, or IG; dodging is a lot more effective than blocking in this fight. I know guard 5 is optimal on iceborne spread shield hbg builds, but do you need all 3 shield mods? Would running one or two make any sense, or will you just get melted without all 3? I feel bad sacrificing the DPS if I don't absolutely need to. Spread also has a great combo with impact mantle to basically keep the monster KO'd for your team to get in some big (and safe) damage. If you're ok with build switching during the hunt, i have a wyvernheart-only build that you can use to break the head, and then switch to your fatalis/safi weapon to finish the hunt. The order listed assumes meta damage builds. with sticky 3 does the HBG even have the required damage to kill fatalis before running out of ammo, i normally get around 15-20k damage before i need to restock but fatalis has like 60k hp. AT FIRST I thought the new bracky HBG was better for sticky 3 due to the lightbring higher damage numbers, slots, and elementless. What are the builds on the zinogre HBG?? i thought so too. I heavily recommend testing a spread HBG that you can make cost free. You already hit sticky cap with Beastbuster just using Agi 7+Art 5 assuming you also eat the standard buffs (AUL, Bombardier, MDD, Powder, Seed) so Attack Boost isn’t adding to your damage if you’re solely spamming stickies. Fatalis gear gives you true spare before then IIRC it’s Nargacuga armor that has spare shot. There is value in Alatreon HBG, but ultimately who is playing HBG for element ammo anyway when there are so many other ways to play HBG that all do more DPS. You could potentially make a 3 piece set of nargacuga for true spare shot and the nargucuga light bow gun for rapid fire pierce. If you played during the Halloween event, build the demonlord head and waist, add two ironwall deco’s to the waist, wear Kirin alpha chest, Garuga/Raging Brachy/Kulve beta Legs (Lavasioth legs if you don’t have spread decos), Teostra beta gloves are decent too for WEX plus the three slot gem for a second spread deco. even then, the Alatreon bow is better for dragon element. Normal is probably the comfiest but lower on the dps side. If using HBG, switch the LBG to Tigrex's HBG. So sticky would be my preferred option in multiplayer since Fatalis isn’t as predictable in multiplayer. You need to constantly sheathe and reposition yourself. Spread Builds let you get close to the action and you can either put on a shield for guaranteed survival, or double down on ridiculously high damage while dodging between the attacks. Honestly, CB, when using savage ax feels quite like spread HBG since you'll be standing at Fatty's crotch constantly doing DPS anyways. I have the f. No part of the monster gives orange numbers even when softened with spread hbg Edit: was based off personal salt shooting with the weakened head, getting a gray number, then fatcastering to a different build The ammo choice for LBG against Fatalis is basically spread or sticky. Sticky ammo requires the charm and Zorah MR gear which can be obtained from minerals and bones in GL. For element the Alatreon LBG is the best for all elements outside of water (Aquashot is still the best Water LBG), but Alatreons LBG is decent for water too. Either Nargacuga for true spare shot bonus. Towards the end, the Nergigante HBG is good, great spread HBG but you need to farm Nergi and the end monster to fully upgrade the weapon. I run a full defensive spread 3 build with guard up, guard 5 and 3 shield mods and I can clear a tempered elder in under 5 mins. The only thing that can't change for both sets is full guard skills and guard up and yeah I'm too afraid to use fatalis HBG without shield mods. To add a bit more context, I have _ Furious Rajang HBG (Demon Lord Beastbuster) with guard mod _ Fatalis beta set _ not the best/meta setnof decorations, but I have Agitator 7, Attack boost 7, Artillery 5, Divine Blessing 5, Guard 5, Guard Up, Free Element/Ammo Up 3 Spread 3 on the weakened chest does a lot of damage and is relatively safe. HBG is surprisingly not that bad against Fatalis. Especially since fata HBG is modded the following: PIERCE: 1 Recoil 2 Reload 1 Scope 1 Power SPREAD: 3 Recoil 1 Scope 1 Close Range also you would need to run both lv 2 spread and pierce in your armor. Hi. With 2 recoil and 2 reload mods it performs the same as a Zorah HBG, in terms of actions per minute, but the one shot smaller clip compared to zorah makes zorah still a bit better when using the full fatty setup due to its ability to spam clusters. with spread ammo hasnt been as big of an issue for me as auto reload pierce plus its easier to craft in terms of supplies. Loving the game, been playing solo non-stop, tried going up against Alatreon with a spread HBG and got 7 shades of shit kicked out of me. Happy hunting! Welcome to Monster Hunter Meta! Crimson Kadachi has better slots and support ammo (paralysis/sleep) than Nargacuga, so that would be my pick. You do SO much damage the monsters are practically stagger locked most of the time (and if you put on an impact mantle like I did, you can stack KO's at the same time making it almost total stun lock) and it's basically just spam the fire button the Fatalis changes with age. Most brute wyverns, Bazel, first form Shara are the only monsters I’d consider using pierce over spread (uragaan is the only monster I use pierce for always) and the blackwing bowgun rapid fires pierce 2, it’s my go to for pierce but requires more skill to survive than HBG however becuz pierce requires you to be at a perfect angle for optimal damage (shooting thru head to tail) I like the So I'm a huge HBG fan but only work with Wyvernsnipe. This build basically loses 3 levels of attack (attack 7 to attack 4), 2 levels of agitator (from agi 7 to agi 5), 1 level of attack augment(for affinity), and True Spare shot. I deliberately play without the damage numbers so I can't actually see the difference numerically, but I feel it in how much quicker the fights have been getting now that I have good armor, stronger bows, and a more robust selection of decos to round out builds. I will say the defining factor in group play is lifepowders. It takes a while with grey numbers. So I did some testing with both HBGs and noticed some slight differences between them. Good bowguns depend on what shot type you want to focus on, like Frostfang LBG and Zinogre HBG are nice for Spread for example. How should you zoom the special scope with using the fatalis HBG with spread and a single close range mod? Fatalis is impossible with a LBG sticky build. This is a post-fatalis set guide (including safi burstcannon setup) I have been playing this game for 2 months by using hbg almost all the time (except safi siege where I swap to sticky aquashot in phase 2 and 3 to ko safi), including my fatalis soloing So here is just my two cents If you want to use spread shield, use safi burstcannon Having only just reached the endgame Iceborne with Bow, I'm inclined to agree.
